Vivlio is (phonetic) Greek for Book.

My name is Sandy Edgar and I am a Cairns based emerging Artist & Photographer. The images featured in Vivlio can be found in a self-published coffee-table book and an exhibition at the popular City Place Gallery, C.1907.

Showcasing just some of my favourite portrait, abstract, architecture and still life photography, as well as images captured in Athens, Venice, Cairo, Bangkok, Melbourne, Sydney and Cairns. Many of the portrait images were created with The Hub (Portrait Photography Group), which was an Artist Run Initiative that I founded and ran with other local photographers during 2011 and 2012.

Although I did not set out to develop a personal style, I believe that I have found one in my aim to create beautiful images that are larger than life and draw you in for a while. I do this while exploring different ideas and concepts and being able to have fun collaborating in the process. Photography is not just a tool but can be explored as a technically challenging art form and it is that breadth and flexibility that continues to draw me to work with it.

During this exhibition I will also be holding a small free workshop for artists called; 'Introduction To Self-Publishing' which will cover the basic considerations in producing a photography or artist book. Numbers are limited so please book via
