(CAIRNS QLD AUSTRALIA)
Knock Knock Contemporary Artists’ Initiative presents the second annual SUB-150 - The Affordable Art Show, joining the creative line-up for this year’s Cairns Festival programme.
The event runs for 2 weeks from 21 August - 1 September at c1907 Contemporary Artspace, in the heart of the Cairns CBD.
The exhibition showcases small works for an affordable price, with every work on sale and priced at $150 or less. More than 25 local artists will be featured – both emerging and established - with paintings, prints and sculptural works, just some of the offerings on display.
A new addition to this year’s SUB-150 exhibition event is a collaborative artists’ book project, created by 9 local artists. The book, A Common Thread, will be on display at venues outside the gallery, including at Cairns Central Shopping Centre, Cairns Regional Council Chambers and Just Kids Early Education House. Knock Knock is committed to bringing contemporary art to viewers of all ages.
Knock Knock will also be hosting an artist forum in the gallery during the exhibition on Friday 31st August from 6pm. The forum will focus on authorship and discussions regarding regional arts practice. All local creatives are welcome to attend.
