'Wrapt in Rocky 2012' is a fabulous week long winter event in all things fibre and textile.

Follow your textiles passion all the way to Rockhampton and join in with the best fibre arts tutors and students from across Australia.

Challenge yourself, make new friendships and become totally immersed in your art. Winter in the tropics is tempting isn’t it! Both warmth (literally) and friendliness await you at Wrapt in Rocky.

2012 will be an absolutely fabulous opportunity for fibre artists to follow their craft. There are 15 fabulous workshops on offer under the inspiring direction of excellent national and international tutors. You have plenty of choice!

Workshops cover a wide array of fibre arts, book arts, encaustic mixed media, printmaking and digital design. Tutors come from all over Australia to share their talents with you. This year Carol Barton, an acclaimed book artist and tutor from USA will present a “Pop up and sculptural books” class for Wrapt in Rocky.

The week involves so much more than just classes with excellent traders on site, nightly tutor presentations, on site installations, a fabulous Wrapt Bazaar and some new activities and creative challenges. Wrapt in Rocky 2012 will be a fantastic regional forum with a unique Central Queensland flavour. The Wrapt team is famous for our friendliness and easy going warmth so join us in Rockhampton in 2012.

Wrapt Workshops run over five days and cover a myriad of fibre arts disciplines such as felting, stitch, quilting, dyeing, leather bags, jewellery(assemblage), garment creation, weaving or buttony.

For something different try pop up and sculptural books, zines, photography, encaustic mixed media or printmaking. You can choose either a fantastic full week 5 day workshop or opt for a fabulous 2 day class.
