Tanks Arts Centre - Face of a sister city photographic exhibition

FACE OF A SISTER CITY PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION

OFFICIAL LAUNCH SUNDAY 27 SEPTEMBER AT 11AM
EXHIBITION DATES 26 SEPT – 15 OCTOBER

Experience the lifestyle of seven different cultures simultaneously in this photographic exhibition, Face of A Sister City.

In a 24-hour period from midday on Saturday 2 May, photographers in Cairns and its seven sister cities – Oyama and Minami in Japan, Riga in Latvia, Scottsdale in Arizona USA, Sidney in British Columbia Canada, Lae in Papua New Guinea and Zhanjiang in China – simultaneously captured images of people and lifestyles in each of these difficult cultural communities.

Only 20 photographers per city were chosen for this special exhibition.

Experience the different cultures and lifestyles of people experiencing the same day and time in history, and reveal in their differences and similarities.

Dates: 26 September-15 October
Launch: Sunday 27 September – 11am
Times: 10am-4pm weekends & 9am-4.30pm weekdays
Cost: Free
Venue: Tank 4

I am really looking forward to this exhibition and can't wait to see it. However, a correction might be necessary in the text on this page in order not to offend any of our sister city friends: surely you meant to say 'different' - not 'difficult' - cultures? :-)
