Artquest Port Douglas offers a one day art tour to artists’ studios in the Port Douglas region.
Special charter tours for your friends or business associates may also be designed on request. You will visit artists’ studios in Port Douglas or the nearby Mowbray Valley, Mossman, Cooya Beach or Whyanbeel Valley. The choice of artists is flexible and will vary from a printmaker to a textile artist, glass artist, watercolourist, oil painter or traditional aboriginal weaver, most of whom will have work available for purchase.
The main emphasis of the one day art tour is on the beautiful Whyanbeel Valley, with its backdrop of towering mountains, half an hour’s drive north of Port Douglas.After travelling through waving purple-flowered sugar cane and over creeks spanned by narrow bridges, you will arrive at the
Hoglund Art Glass studio.
Magic and sheer hard work combine with the amazing skill of Ola Hoglund to turn silica into sparkling items of great beauty before your eyes. You may purchase pieces of this internationally renowned glass art from the Hoglund studio or book a class with Ola, either through us or directly from his studio when we visit.
At the nearby Karnak theatre, café and gallery in the rainforest, you may meet its owner, actor and author, Diane Cilento and enjoy a delicious light lunch, whilst contemplating the entrancing views of mountains and lake, which form a backdrop to the open air theatre.

On the return trip you will visit another dedicated artist at work before stopping off at roadside fruit stalls on the way to the Shannonvale Tropical Fruit Winery for a little wine tasting - a fitting end to your one day art tour in tropical Australia! All transport, lunch and admission to studios and winery included. Day tour price $135 per person.
