Preparations are almost complete for the 2009 Go Troppo Arts Festival in Port Douglas. This ten day celebration of life, arts and culture will kick off on Friday October 2 with a gala cocktail party at the fabulous old sugar wharf on the waterfront.

As in past years this is sure to be very popular event as guests enjoy delicious refreshments on the deck and discover wonderful artwork by twenty one artists inside the shed. Titled "Monsoon Passage" the exhibition is curated by Cairns artist, Christine Eyres.

There is a virtual cornucopia of wonderful and varied arts experiences awaiting you - eight exhibitions, theatre, music and a choice of eighteen exciting arts workshops.

Friends of the Festival receive generous discounts to all events for which there is a charge (most are free or just a gold coin entry) so why not join?

Please check out the website www.go-troppo-arts-festival.com then "go troppo with us!".

Accommodation packages are available or just ring up your favourite resort and ask for their best festival deal.

See you there!
