New range of Australian opal jewellery is launched by fashion icon, Linda Jackson..
LINDA JACKSON FOR GIULIANS - LIMITED EDITION AUSTRALIAN OPAL JEWELLERY COLLECTION - launched in conjunction with Vogue Australia magazine. Linda Jackson, one of Australia’s most prolific artists and designers, has created a signature collection of Australian opal jewellery in collaboration with Gary Coffey, Creative Director of Giulians ‐ a world‐class specialist in the highest quality Australian gems and jewellery.
A free spirit of fashion, Linda Jackson’s unique approach to design has marked an era in Australianfashion out of a driving passion for the outback and its indigenous people. A cornerstone of Jackson’s work over the last 35 years has been her fascination with opals and the lightning storm of colours they hold.
Well known as the October birthstone, opal jewelery is sought after by the most discerning and fashion conscious.
Linda says, “The opal is our national gem, a living treasure, a glittering rainbow in stone, paintings of light by Mother Nature, a miracle of brilliant dazzling colour. Opal, for me, is awe inspiring; a revelation of great beauty.”
The opal has been modernized and reinterpreted by Linda in this striking new Australian opal jewellery collection. The aesthetic inspiration comes from the jewellery of the Native‐American tribes of New Mexico, where pieces of turquoise are minimally set in silver block pieces to best frame the gemstone.
Linda has taken her unique Australian aesthetic to this concept, using spectacular Queensland ‘Boulder’ opals and Lightning Ridge black opal, placing them in bold shapes of 22CT yellow gold edged inSterling Silver – each cleanly offsetting the brilliance of the stone.
The nine piece range includes two necklaces that are separated as pendants, a cuff, a ring, earrings and cufflinks, the highlight of which is a Tibetan‐style functional locket.
Linda encourages the wearer to interchange the pendants in the Giulians range; separating them simply or layering them to dramatic effect with each other or paired with contrasting pieces from their own jewellery collection.
