Terry Johnson CV - Artistic Statement

Working from my studios in Robe, South Australia and Port Douglas, Queensland, I create works that are stimulated by both the natural environment as well at the icons of my imagination. I am in a way an iconographer often painting the same image over and over looking at the endless ramifications of this subject.
I think of my works as visual dreams, surreal and concerned with the wit of unconscious.
Typically I work in acrylic or mixed media on canvas or paper in a fairly strong pallet and greatly enjoy investigating and experimenting with new styles and techniques.
My work is represented in private homes around the world and in many publications.
I regularly exhibit at my own galleries Wilson’s at Robe and Port Douglas Artists Gallery at the Meridien Marina Mirage and at selected galleries around Australia.
